WVU Ticket Sales Staff Named Property of the Year

By Charlie Healy –  The West Virginia University IMG Learfield Ticket Sales staff earned several awards, including being named the Property of the Year, at the 2017 IMG Learfield General Manager’s Conference.

WVU’s ticket sales staff earned the Property of the Year award along with three additional property awards and five individual honors. They were recognized at the annual IMG Learfield conference.

“I couldn’t be more proud of my team for their hard work and accomplishments in 2016,” general manager Justin Morgan said. “They deserve all of the accolades and recognition they received last week at our awards conference in Orlando. We have a tremendous amount of support from everyone in the WVU Athletic Department and our operation is only as good as the relationship we have in that regard. I can’t thank Matt Wells and the entire WVU Athletic Department enough for how much support they continue to give my team every day. We are looking forward to building off of the success we have had in our first three years and we are excited to be a part of the future here at WVU.”

“Congratulations to Justin and the WVU outbound ticket sales team,” WVU Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs Matt Wells said. “They’ve been a great addition to the athletic department staff. In their third year, to win the Property of the Year award, along with the other awards that they won both as a group and individually, is really a true testament to the work that they’ve done and the support that they’ve provided to the WVU Athletic Department. We’re having a great year as far as ticket sales and attendance goes, and that can be attributed to the work of a lot of groups, including our athletic marketing office, the Mountaineer Ticket Office and certainly Justin and our outbound ticket sales team.”

The Property of the Year Award is awarded based on the staff’s overall sales, ticket sales goals and its relationship with the school’s administration. The WVU staff was selected among IMG Learfield’s 41 properties across the country.

Additionally, WVU was recognized as the Best Group Sales Property, given to the property that has the most group sales. WVU also was recognized as a 100% to Goal Club honoree and was one of three properties to be named a 20,000+ Ticket Group Sales Property honoree.

Led by account executive Lee Harris, WVU’s staff earned five individual awards. Harris was named the National Sales Cup Champion and earned the Top Account Executive in Group Sales award. Harris, Matt Harman and Derek Stahl were also recognized as achieving the 5,000+ group tickets sold mark.
