With the excitement surrounding March Madness, many of our teams have begun their campaigns for the 2023 – 2024 basketball season. Our teams know that fans are excited about their teams participating in the postseason and want to capitalize on this enthusiasm before spring sports commence. While many of our teams are only accepting deposits at this time, some are fully on-sale for next year’s basketball season.

Check out how some of our teams are communicating with their fans during this time, and click on the graphics to view emails, articles, and messaging used to push these campaigns. If your team has not started this process yet, when do you plan to launch your campaign?

This year, our Director worked with athletics to significantly move up timelines for the ’23 – ’24 basketball season. Having previously begun the process in July, our team knew there was an opportunity to jump at the excitement surrounding the current basketball season. On February 15th, our team launched in-game vs Xavier. Since then, they have been sending regular emails to past buyers with links to the FEVO Deposit page and conducting a past buyer call campaign. They have found major success in this new approach.

With a coaching change for WKU Men’s Basketball, our team went on-sale last Monday to capitalize on the news. For now, our team is leading call campaigns to past and prospective buyers. Our team is working with marketing to plan communication campaigns in the coming weeks. In addition, they will also tie it in with the new renewal reward program pictured above.

Our team at Iowa began sharing Men’s Basketball Deposits & Women’s Basketball Deposits links in their “Hawks Win” emails and general email campaigns on February 1st. They are also able to pull through some engagement clicks using the Eloqua software.
Our team at West Virginia sent out an email push ahead of the NCAA tournaments regarding 2023-24 season ticket deposits for both Men’s and Women’s basketball. They are also promoting this on social media.
Similarly, the OU team included a link to place a deposit for next year’s Women’s basketball season in their email that celebrated the clinching of the Big 12 Conference regular season title.
As the NIT tournament commenced, our Sam Houston State Manager, Montel Gardner, worked with the athletics communications team to add the ’23 – ’24 basketball deposit link to all Sam Houston State Basketball articles moving forward. The stories are also linked in their digital and social media posts, which adds more eyes to the article. Click the photo above to view the article and the deposit campaign reference.
Our Washington State team launched the renewal campaigns for both Men’s and Women’s basketball two weeks ago. They will begin an email campaign targeting renewals and new sales along with a social media push this week.
